| Fruit of the Month for November - Cranberry |
Botanical Name: Vaccinium macrocarpum
Our tart little friend, the cranberry, comes into full glory in the fall. It's a Wisconsin specialty as well as the state fruit. Wisconsin produces half the world's supply, so you can eat the cranberry with pride!
A must-have at the Thanksgiving dinner table, you'll be pleased to know it has healthy properties too. It has tannins that can help maintain good bladder health and chemicals which help prevent gingivitis, tooth decay, and kidney stones.
The cranberry grows in wet, marshy lands with acidic soil. The vines are native to North America, and North American Indians used the fruit as both medicine and dye. Let's give a hand to this multi-faceted superfruit!

Farewell to Farmer's Market
November 8th is the year's final Farmer's Market. If you're up at the Square around 11am, watch for the QSC gang across from Inn on the Park.

| The Queer Supper Club (QSC) is a group of gay people and their friends who meet to have dinner once a week Saturday night. We have met consistently since 1995 and follow these rules:
- We meet at the UW Memorial Union, starting with a snack around 7:15pm, Saturday night. Look for the Fruit of the Month!
- In the summer, weather permitting, we meet on the Memorial Union Terrace. In the winter or bad weather, we meet in the Lakefront Cafeteria.
- We decide where to eat at 7:30pm, but not before, and leave promptly afterwards.
- We dine somewhere within walking distance of Memorial Union.
- Afterwards, we go to a coffeeshop.
- E-mail the QSC Webmaster
to join or simply look for our table, marked with the Fruit of the Month!
